Fairfax Sterling Silver Flatware Manufactured Brand New by Gorham is one of the most popular sterling pattern of all time. It was first manufactured in the year 1910. It was initially received with a bang and has been one of the strongest selling patterns consistently ever since its inception.
Fairfax is a very stately pattern with its regal lines and distinctive shape. It is a very popular pattern for those who wish to display their monogram on their silver flatware pieces.
Fairfax was first designed by The Durgin Company which was later acquired by Gorham. The older pieces of Fairfax will have the old Durgin marks and the new pieces will be marked Gorham Sterling. The two can be mixed together with almost no difference in appearance, however, most of the older Durgin made pieces tend to be beat up as this pattern is difficult to maintain due to its plain appearance.
